Assisted living is for seniors who want to stay as independent as possible but need help with some parts of the day. At Ridgeview Gardens, that help is given in a real home, by caregivers who know each resident well. Care is provided 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

Help with daily living

Every resident's needs are different. We help with as much or as little as each person needs, including:

• Bathing, showering and personal hygiene
• Dressing and grooming
• Toileting and continence care
• Mobility, walking and transfers, including residents who use a wheelchair or are bedbound
• Medication help, given on time as your doctor orders
• Home-cooked meals and snacks
• Housekeeping and laundry

How care plans work

Before move-in, we meet with you and your loved one for a care appraisal. We talk about health, daily routines, likes and dislikes, and the kind of help that's needed. We also review the physician's report. From this, we write a care plan that every caregiver follows.

Needs change over time, so we update the plan when they do. We keep families in the loop and are happy to talk with doctors, home health and hospice teams.

Why a small home instead of a large community?

Large assisted living buildings can feel like hotels: long hallways, many staff faces and lots of noise. A small home is different. Residents share meals at a few tables, the living room is steps from every bedroom, and the same caregivers are there day after day. Many families tell us this calm, familiar setting is the reason they chose a board and care home.

At Ridgeview, every bedroom is private and has its own door to the patio, so residents have privacy and families can visit easily.

Who is a good fit?

Ridgeview Gardens is a good fit for seniors who:

• Need help with a few or most daily tasks
• Use a walker or wheelchair, need 2-person transfers, or are bedbound
• Are coming home from the hospital or rehab and can't safely live alone
• Want a quiet, home-like setting rather than a large building

Our assisted living can support residents with mild memory loss whose behaviors are mild to moderate. We're not able to accept residents who try to leave (exit seeking) or who have severe behaviors.
